Accommodation

What do I need to bring?
If you are staying in self contained accommodation, you will need to bring your bed linen, toilet paper, detergent etc. Ask your consultant for a more detailed list.

Can we have extra people sleeping on the floor?
There is a legal limit of the number of people allowed in the accommodation due to fire and council regulations. If you exceed the maximum occupancy number you may be fined and your stay will result in immediate termination.

Does my accommodation need to be paid before I arrive?
Full payment is required four (4) weeks before arrival date for off snow accommodation and eight (8) weeks before arrival date for on snow accommodation. Failure to send balance by the due date can result in cancellation.

What is Check In and Check Out time?
The standard check in time is 4pm and standard check out is 10am.

Payments

How can I pay for my holiday?
Payment can be made by credit card, cheque or direct deposit. If paying by direct deposit please use your reservation number as the reference.

When do I pay my deposit?
The deposit of 50% is due within 7 days of making your reservation.

When do I pay my final balance?
Final payment is due 4 weeks prior to arrival for off snow accommodation and 8 weeks prior to arrival for on snow accommodation.

National Park

Do I need to carry chains?
If you are in a 2 wheel drive vehicle you are required by law to carry chains inside the National Park from June to September inclusive. 4 wheel drive vehicles are exempt.

Where can I purchase my National Park Entry Pass from?
You can pre book this with us at the Snowy Mountains Holiday Centre or you can purchase one at the National Park Entry Station at Kiandra, Thredbo or Perisher. Some local Service Stations also sell the passes.

How much is the entry into the National Park?
The daily rate is $27.00 per car.

Packages

What happens if I loose my vouchers?
Vouchers are non refundable and non transferable. Lost vouchers will incur a fee, ask your consultant for more information.

Can I get a refund on lift passes not used?
Refunds are not available for cancelations after the holiday package has commenced, this included lift passes, ski hire and lessons.

What happens if I am late for my lessons?
There is no refund, rescheduling or credit for being late to your lessons. Please make sure you leave enough time for travel and purchasing your ski hire especially if the road conditions are deteriorated.

What happens if I cancel my reservation?
If you cancel less than four (4) weeks prior to arrival the will be no refund. If you cancel more then four (4) weeks prior to arrival you will receive a full refund less a $70.00 cancelation fee.

Snow

When will it snow?
With the weather being so unpredictable we recommend checking the long and short term forcasts. There are snowmaking facilities that also adds to the natural snowfalls.

What if there is no snow?
If there is no snow and no ski lifts in operation, you will be given a refund for the skiing portion of your reservation. There is no refund on accommodation due to no snow.

Roads

When do I put chains on my car?
There will be signs alerting you to pull over in the chain fitting bays to fit chains if and when they are required.

Where do I hire chains from?
Chains can be hired from most local Service Stations in the Snowy Mountains. If you are unsure on how to use them please ask for a demonstration.

Other

Do I need travel Insurance?
We recommend travel Insurance as the unexpected can happen. For more information please ask your consultant.

What time do the ski lifts open?
The first lift generally starts at 8.30am.

Where can I toboggan?
Selwyn Snowfields has a specialised area for tobogganing. It is recommended to stay inside the designated tobogganing area for safety reasons.

Can we hire gloves and goggles?
Gloves and goggles are not available to hire due to health reasons. You can purchase these items from most local Service Stations, Ski Hires and other snow related retail outlets.
